Dude. Dude. DUDE. Are You Too Drunk Or Stoned To Drive? Canary App Can Tell You

Since the debut of the iPhone in 2007, startups have been dreaming of ways to help drivers determine whether they’re too drunk or high to get behind the wheel. No matter what in most people’s eyes you should never get behind the wheel of a car after having a drink or a smoke, no matter what. It’s just common sense not to put yourself and others in unnecessary danger. Although if you are a medicinal marijuana advocate you might be interested in keeping up with some of the latest medical marijuana news, read more here.

Their methods have often relied on dongles that plug into a headphone jack, claiming to work like breathalyzers. Unfortunately, none have proven to be very accurate, and of course, they’ve done nothing for stoners. A new app called Canary may yield better results by putting users through a series of quick sobriety tests. From the pro-pot advocacy group NORML:

For over 45 years NORML has been at the center of national efforts to legalize responsible use of marijuana by adults (with most users using something like https://ledgrowlightshq.com/weed-grinders/ during their recreational activity). But missing from these efforts was an accurate way to measure impairment. Today we’re happy to announce such a way exists and it’s called Canary.

“Canary is the first app to give consumers the scientific information they need to honestly and accurately evaluate their personal performance, privately, anytime, and anywhere,” says Allen St. Pierre, Executive Director of NORML.

Available for iPhone® and iPad®, Canary combines decades of research and experience, specialized mental and physical performance tests, and sophisticated analysis to accurately measure impairment due to alcohol, medication, fatigue and even the subtle impact of marijuana.

I’m not sure what it means that Canary is only available for iOS. Are iPhone users more likely to be stoners? (The folks at Broad City say, “Hellz, yes.”) Are Android users abstainers or in recovery? Whatever the reason, the lesson learned is that marijuana is safe to do in your own home when you’re not planning on driving out on the roads. However, if you have children, it’s probably best you keep your marijuana hidden and unattainable in one of these pop top containers. Additionally, the pop-top container is useful packaging to keep your cannabis safe, instead of leaving it lying about. Just remember that with the use of cannabis comes the use of the Canary app to help keep yourself safe on the roads.
