In a first-of-its-kind event – and something we hope to see a lot more of in the future – Cadillac hosted a reception geared towards the LGBT community during this year’s New York International Auto Show. Gays and lesbians from a wide range of professional backgrounds rubbed shoulders, talked cars, and clinked cocktail glasses at this ground-breaking soiree.
Seeking to counter what one sassy guest referred to as GM’s “old white guys in suits” image, Cadillac chose the New York show and Jacob Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan to come roaring out of the closet.
Many times when we are single, we focus on finding the “perfect” man. Perfection is in the eye of the beholder but many of us would outwardly describe him as someone suave and debonair, well-dressed and using those 50 cent words. If we were really honest with ourselves, we’d quote rapper Ludacris and admit that we REALLY want “a lady in the street, and a freak in the bed.” All that, rolled into a car, my dear friend, is the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V.<
I just arrived here in Pebble Beach and while I missed the live showing of the hot new CTS sportwagon, the folks at GM provided some great video and photography of the hot new cargo hauler.
According to Cadillac, the 2010 CTS Sport Wagon is “the right car at the right time” – meaning that while cargo requirements may not have changed, the American consumer’s appetite for large SUVs has dwindled in the era of $4/gallon gasoline. What is the next best solution? Why a wagon of course!
