Well, we spent the day in Orlando, FL running around getting ready for the Fireball Run. We had a radio interview with Larry Flick of Sirius OutQ early and despite a few technical difficulties were able to connect and discuss Team G.L.A.M.’s participation in the Fireball Run. We then sped across town to Rollins College, stopped at a Starbucks on Gay Street and were interviewed by Chris Manley on this weekly glbt talk show on 91.5 FM in Orlando.
It wasn’t until we got to the official check-in station that we realized that we were lacking some key items in order to be allowed to participate in the race. One would think that it would be easy to find a first-aid kit, a fire extinguisher and a emergency triangle but even with the help of our friends at OnStar, our team member from GLEE.com has his fair share of frustrations with the infamous Orlando traffic. As a result we had only moments to spare to get the decals on the car for the group photo shoot. At least next time we’ll know to look on sites like MFASCO for a first-aid kit beforehand. Can you say DRAMA?
The weather cooperated right up to the point that we took the group photo and then the heavens opened up and it proceeded to rain like there was no tomorrow. Wet and exhausted, we got the final items needed, finished applying the required decals and passed the technical inspection with flying colors. Tomorrow the race starts and we will be up bright and early to get premium spots at the starting line. One thing is for sure, this is not going to be an easy event. The other teams are seasoned and from the looks of them, VERY serious about winning.
The video below just gives you and idea of how tired and wet we were after the sky opened up. We promise more exciting videos in coming days. Notice the expression on Parker’s face (guy in back seat). Can you tell he’s having FUN?
