Next week, Nick and Richard — two of your faithful Gaywheels correspondents — will head to the Motor City for the 2012 North American International Auto Show (better known as the Detroit Auto Show). We’ll check out the latest rides from Acura, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Nissan, Porsche, Ram, Scion, Smart, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo…well, basically every major brand sold in the U.S.
We’ll also try to score face time with company reps to talk about diversity issues. We know that many of you like to spend your hard-earned ducats with companies that value the LGBT community. We’ll talk to some automakers that have a long history of doing just that, and we’ll press others on why they haven’t stepped up to the plate.
But what we really want to know is: what would you ask if you were in our shoes? Let us know in the comments below, or send your questions to [email protected]. We’ll do our best to get ’em answered!
why don’t GM or Ford make a small awd sedan/wagon/coupe for those of us who like fun in the snow? I don’t need a poor handling SUV that’s too tall for me to put gear on the top. I currently have a BMW 535xi because it’s fast and fun, and my husband absoluty needed the 20 way heated comfort seats. (thats my story and I’m stickin to it)
Great question. I think Ford might refer you to the snazzed-up Focus — which is definitely fun to drive, though it probably can’t handle the powder as well as your 535.
As for GM…well, driving a Camaro in winter weather probably isn’t quite what the designers intended, but it would probably keep you awake (though maybe for the wrong reasons).
Can you find out what cars will they push here in Europe?
