Fiat Chrysler Automobiles does considerable business in Indiana, building vehicles, working with suppliers across the state, and of course, selling cars. This morning, the Detroit automaker issued a statement regarding Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and — spoiler alert — it’s not good news for the haters:
“FCA US LLC has a zero tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, and as such, oppose any law that can result in discrimination. Our commitment and policy extends to our employees and business partners.”
The allusion to a specific, discriminatory law makes this the strongest statement we’ve yet seen from a major automaker. And that is pretty damn cool.
The ball’s in your court, Governor Pence. Are you going to swing, or would you like America to keep pelting you?
