OutQ Now on XM 98

If you are regular reader of this site, you know that we’ve been guests on Sirius OutQ a few times in the past 10 months. Sadly, many of you couldn’t hear us live because your car is equipped with XM and OutQ was a Sirius-only channel. As of February 2nd, that all has changed. Thanks to the merger of Sirius and XM, you can listen to the award-winning OutQ on Sirius channel 109 AND XM channel 98. [...]

Castro Chrome – A Cuban Cruising Travelogue

When two gay vintage car enthusiasts arrive in Cuba, cruising takes on a whole new meaning. This is the land that time (and Uncle Sam) forgot, where 50% off all the cars on the road today are pre-1961 American chrome land yachts. Purple Cadillacs, low hung Mercurys, and exquisitely preserved fins and chrome of all makes still ply the roads. No parts have been imported for nearly a half-century, but the resourceful Cubans use house paint, duct tape and what felt like lube to keep their beloved relics going. [...]

Football, Tires and Potato Heads- Oh My!

A box arrived in the mail today and it contained a Mr. Potato Head doll along with a note from said tuber announcing his debut, along with Mrs. Potato Head, in a commercial during the Super Bowl at the end of the 1st quarter. The note also indicated a second Bridgestone commercial during the 3rd quarter of the game that will be “out of this world”. [...]

2010 Volvo XC60 – Drive Event

January 29, 2009 – This just in: Volvo Cars North America just announced pricing of the 2010 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD – starting MSRP of $37,200 plus destination charge of $825. That includes leather seating, their innovative City Safety System, power driver’s seat, SIRIUS satellite radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth and the Panorama sunroof. If that sounds a little pricey, consider this; a similarly equipped Merdeces-Benz GLK is over $40K and the BMW X3 xDrive3.0i is over $42K. Clearly Volvo is being very aggressive with their pricing and they need to be. They haven’t been immune to the abysmal market conditions and they face stiff competition from the GLK350 and the upcoming Audi Q5. [...]

Top 10 Vehicles from Detroit Auto Show 2009

I attended the 2009 North American International Auto Show last week and as is custom, I chose the Top 10 vehicles from the show. Our criteria is that they have to be production vehicles from gay-friendly manufacturers in order to qualify. While some of the concepts introduced were HOT (Cadillac Converj anyone?), we stuck to our guns and picked vehicles that you’ll be able to drive in the near future. [...]

I’m Not Perfect, OK?

I know some of you might find this hard to believe but I am not perfect. There is the occasional typo in an article, a misspelling and every once in a blue moon a fact may be misrepresented. I blame it on age and my inability to focus at times. Sadly I have nothing to blame for my recent case of brain flatulence except minimized brain capacity. I was on two separate radio programs recently and in both, I made mistakes live on the air. Thanks to astute listeners, I’ve been corrected and am here to rectify the methane in the brain: [...]
