That ‘Mo Can DRIVE!
by Joe LaMuraglia
Today was the first of two track days during the Fireball Run. We were able to run the cars on the track at Houston’s Motorsport Ranch – let me clarify – Evan was able to drive the Saab on the track, I just watched and made sure he was hydrated. At the end of the day, I was allowed to be a passenger as Evan raced around the track at considerably slower speeds.
As today was very “experiential”, I did my best to put together two video clips that would help bring the event to life for our readers. Clearly my digital camera with video capabilities isn’t appropriate for such work but it is better than nothing.
The first video is a few clips edited together to show Evan’s first run on the track. The second clip shows me in the passenger seat. The 9-3 performed flawlessly throughout the day and there were many seasoned racing folk that commented on both Evan’s driving and the SAAB’s ability to haul butt on the track.
A HUGE thanks to SAAB’s Leanne Wandoff and the rest of the SAAB team. They worked with us on a Sunday and were able to help us get the tire repaired first thing in Monday morning at Performance Saab in Houston. The Service and Parts director, Tony Cavaliero, was there bright and early and hooked us up with a new tire. If you are considering a SAAB in Houston, check them out at www.performancecarco.com
Great vids! Did you go on with OutQ in the Morning on Monday? Any chance of posting an audio clip of that?
Hey Cowboy! We missed our interview with OutQ on Monday as we were at a Saab dealer repairing the tire. Our next interview is tomorrow (Friday) at 10:30 A.M. eastern time. Check us out on Sirius OutQ!
