VOLT AND GAY DAY READY TO STORM LA AUTO SHOW

Another day, another gay gathering of auto enthusiasts. But this one has a twist. The latest rainbow round-up has General Motors brands’ Saturn, Cadillac, Saab and Chevrolet inviting gay & lesbian Angelenos to cruise on over to the LA Convention Center for a grassroots “Gay Day in LA at the Auto Show” event on Sunday, November 23. Participants are being asked to wear the color green to show their visibility at the auto show.
The “Gay Day” event begins with brunch at a restaurant called Tranquility Base. The informal brunch will give attendees a chance to meet-and-greet GM employees and map out their auto show strategies. After brunch, General Motors plans to offer vehicle shuttles over to the Convention Center for the Auto Show, where GM staffers will host walk-around vehicle tours of their latest offerings. The production version of the Volt electric vehicle will be prominently featured and experts will be on hand to answer questions about the future of the electric car.

General Motors wants to impress this highly coveted market by showing off their latest hybrids, alternative energy vehicles, futuristic concept cars and of course, the much-anticipated Chevy Volt electric car. Apparently, automakers are starting to realize that a lot of gay and lesbian couples are bringing in double incomes, with no kids- and- some of us might be the only ones left with disposable cash in these turbulent financial times.
