I know some of you might find this hard to believe but I am not perfect. There is the occasional typo in an article, a misspelling and every once in a blue moon a fact may be misrepresented. I blame it on age and my inability to focus at times.
Sadly I have nothing to blame for my recent case of brain flatulence except minimized brain capacity. I was on two separate radio programs recently and in both, I made mistakes live on the air. Thanks to astute listeners, I’ve been corrected and am here to rectify the methane in the brain:
2010 Lexus HS250h
On Thursday, January 15, 2008 I was a guest on The Agenda with Joe Solmonese on XM. We were discussing my Top 10 Picks from the Detroit Auto show and for some unknown reason, I called the new Lexus Hybrid sedan the “HR250h” instead of using the correct HS250h nomenclature. Maybe it’s because HS reminds me of “High School” and I’ve spent the past 20 years trying to forget that awkward stage in my life. The real name is HS250h and it is Lexus’s first dedicated hybrid vehicle and despite what most journalists are reporting, it is more than a Toyota Prius with a Lexus body. I’ll go into more detail when I post my Top 10 from Detroit early next week.
The following evening, I had the pleasure of spending almost an hour on Sirius OutQ 109 with Derek & Romaine. It is the fourth time I’ve been a guest and while I missed my co-host Joe Tralongo, I thought I was holding my own. Then a caller asked about alternatives to his much-loved BMW 3-Series convertible and asked specifically about the Infiniti G37 Convertible (pictured at the top of this post) and the new Audi A5/S5 convertibles. I knew the G37 hard-top convertible was coming, just wasn’t sure when (Spring 2009) but the A5/S5 Cabrio caught me off guard. I ASSUMED one was coming but I knew it hasn’t been announced yet. Rumor has it coming in Spring 2009 as well. I won’t publish anything official until I hear it from Audi PR.
The photo you see above is not from Audi but from an enthusiast site. I can’t access Audi’s media site right now (my fault, not theirs) but I felt the need to rectify myself. Thanks to listener Richard for calling out what he specifically described as a “brain fart”.
I’ll do my best to keep things straight in the future but hey, I’m just a man (from “Blades of Glory”).
