GM has been a strong supporter of the LGBT community (and this site) via advertising and various creative events around the country. Last year during the LA Auto show, they experienced success with “Gay Days at the Auto Show” and logically thought a similar event around the debut of the Transformers movie would make sense.
From all accounts, the event was a success but a recent article in USA Today around the video used to promote the gathering is causing a stir outside of the LGBT community. It seems that some executives at GM deemed the video “inappropriate” and had it taken down from YouTube.
Rather than just give my one-sided opinion, I’ve asked Travis Parman, GM’s LGBT PR liason to chat with me about it.
