From The Colonel’s chicken to Doritos, honey is steaming up culinary endeavors across the spectrum. Now, you can devour the glossy natural hue while eating trails in 2027 Toyota TRD Pro models as the automaker adds Honeycomb exterior paint to Tundra, Sequoia and Tacoma along with Hot Honey for the mid-size 4Runner SUV.
TRD Pro models have long been some of Toyota’s most exuberant models, so the bold color definitely begs for adventure as an alternative to the typical black, silver or red.
It’s a unique color, but a realization of trends I discussed with designers from Lexus, Chrysler and color house BASF back in February. All expected fresh takes on natural colors to be on-trend for 2027 and they weren’t wrong. BASF’s Mark Gutjahr, global head of Automotive Color Design, specifically predicted that warm neutrals like light and vivid browns would emerge. Now they have.
But if you look closer at these models, you might also see a vivid shade of red peeking out. Those are tow hooks, which come in handy when these TRD – Toyota Racing Development – models hit trails and tribulations.
Beyond sweet colors, the full-size 2027 Tundra pickup and sequoia SUV TRD Pro models will be upgraded with vehicle specific tuned FOX® enhanced QS3 shocks to enhance feel, stability and adjustability while traversing rough terrain. ISO-dynamic seats fortify comfort and bolstering during off-road driving in Tundra and Tacoma pickups.
Additional specifications and pricing will be released as these delicious new appetizers start production this fall.
Storm Forward!

That’s a really interesting shift I’ve been noticing too – honey seems to be popping up everywhere now!
