Subaru Tribeca – Love is a Funny Thing

Subaru’s latest commercial campaign touts very little in terms of product attributes but rather focuses on the relationship that their loyal owners have with their Subarus. According to the marketing campaign it is LOVE that makes a Subaru, a Subaru and in terms of brand strategy, it seems to be working. Subaru is one of the few auto makers that is increasing their sales during this challenging economic times. [...]

A Movie About Windshield Wipers?

I thought only a car geek could get excited about things like the story behind the invention of the intermittent windshield wiper. Based on the murmurs after the preview of Flash of Genius the last time I went to see a movie, I may wrong. There was a universal “I want to see that” in the air. [...]

Is Brand as Important as a Gay-Friendly Environment?

River Edge, NJ – Of the thousands of users that searched for a dealer on Gaywheels.com, nearly half (48%) did not specify a brand for their search. Among those who were searching for a specific brand, the most popular choice was Volkswagen. “Research has consistently indicated that the LGBT consumer is willing to change their behavior to support gay-friendly businesses” said Gaywheels.com founder Joe LaMuraglia. “Our consumers’ behavior indicates that a gay-friendly buying environment is one of the single most-important factors when gay car shoppers are looking for their next new or used vehicle.” [...]

Normally, I would have hit the delete button without another thought but the note had a URL in the signature and my curiosity got the best of me. The result; a little bit of international humor. [...]

You’re Invited to GM’s 100th Birthday

7:30 PM, Monday, September 15, 2008 – Ok, we got clarification from the GM PR team. You will be able to watch the events celebrating GM’s 100th birthday right here on Gaywheels.com. It all starts at 8:25 AM Eastern time Tuesday, September 16th and as I am typing this, I realize that I know two of the people that will be presenting tomorrow. The local Channel 7 news just reported that Nekeidra Shegog from the Atlanta regional office and Vijay Iyer from GM’s European design center in Germany will be two of the key presenters. I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Nekeidra for the past few years in Atlanta and Vijay has had to deal with my incorrigible self at a few auto shows. Both are young, good looking and should do GM proud. [...]
