What Happens in Vegas……
You know the saying….”What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas”. Well, I’d like to propose a new slogan. It would read “Vegas – Trying to Make Gay Men Straight”. I can’t go into all the details but let’s just say that taking a drunk gay man to an exotic dancing club doesn’t a straight man make. It does, however, provide for lots of amusement, great stories, and one helluva hangover. To all the guys that took me out last night, next time we play on my turf. Let’s see how you feel after a night in an all-boys club! Vegas is always the place to be it seems! In fact, you can smoke weed in 420-friendly rentals in Vegas now, so the party never stops for anyone.
I am typing this as we are cruising down I-15 on our way to Barstow, CA to take part in a what the Fireball Run calls “passage controls”. The first involves finding the Route 66 museum and purchasing an item that will be donated to children’s charity when we arrive in Los Angeles. The second challenge is to find the original Del Taco, get lunch and receive our final clues to take us to Los Angeles. As we are moving, today will be photo-less. I do have some good ones to share (and a few I can’t) so I’ll make sure to post them in one of my future posts.
Evan kicked butt again on the track yesterday in Las Vegas. The Saab wasn’t suited to the track but he still managed take the 12th position overall. The best time was only four seconds faster. Again, our fellow Fireballers commented on both the Saab and Evan’s abilities. I think we may have sold a few 9-3 Convertibles on this trip! We can’t say enough great things about it. Of course Evan wanted high-performance brakes, lower-profile tires and a suspension upgrade for the track but out on the open road, no complaints whatsoever. Very comfortable and a wonderful highway cruiser.
We check in to the Sofitel in Los Angeles this evening and will find out our final standings at the award ceremony. We are in the second position in the Luxury class with no hopes of catching the leaders. They took part in the gambling of points last night while we took a pass. It paid off for them – they have 400 point lead.
Stay tuned!
