Wednesday, September 10, 2008 – I just drove the new VW CC from Atlanta to Nashville and had every intention of getting the review up today while my impressions are still fresh. Of course, the minutia of running the site and trying to eek out a few more pennies from your eyeballs got in the way and here I am at the end of the day without a review written.
Solution – give you a sneak peak at the photos and a few early impressions and ask that you check back in a few days to read the wonderfully witty prose that is sure to come.
What is a CC? The CC – “Comfort Coupe” in VW speak – the a surprisingly gorgeous version of the VW Passat and the latest attempt from a German company to change the definition of what a coupe means.
What Does it Cost? – Starting at $26,790 for a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder with a 6-speed manual.
How Powerful? – The base engine is the aforementioned 2.0L turbo four that pumps out 200 HP. The optional engine is VW’s 3.6L VR6 that is rated at 280 horsepower
Initial Impressions? – A gorgeous take on a four-door sedan. I like the base engine the best as the VR6 is surprisingly loud under acceleration. As with many VWs of late, it gets pricey as you add all the goodies.
Come back soon for a full review. In the meantime, enjoy the photos below courtesy of VW of America.
