A friend was investigating a car loan online and came across something very interesting. It seems that if you are looking to buy a Saab and want to use Bank of America, you are S.O.L. In the fine print on their site, they outline the auto loan eligibility requirements. They are relatively straightforward; outlining guidelines about no commercial vehicles, no lemon law vehicles, no motorcycles etc. Then it clearly stats “No Isuzu or Saab vehicles”.
Eligibility
- No commercial vehicles
- No vehicles for business use
- No conversion or delivery vehicles, gray market, or lemon law vehicles
- No salvaged, rebuilt, or branded title vehicles
- No Motorcycles
- No Isuzu or Saab vehicles
- No Independent Dealer Purchases 1
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents
Ok, Isuzu I understand. They aren’t even sold here any more but Saab? Their fate is still up in the air and there are still Saabs on dealer lots that somebody will buy eventually. What about Pontiac or Saturn? Will Bank of America finance them?
File this under “OUCH”. You can see the eligibility requirements HERE
