Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is the first car company to respond to this morning’s hugely important Supreme Court decision guaranteeing marriage equality throughout the U.S. Here’s the statement in full, straight from FCA’s mouth:
FCA US has a longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion, and respects the belief that everyone should be treated equally under the law and opposes any law that can result in discrimination. FCA US is a longtime supporter of LGBT communities and issues and was among the first automakers to offer domestic partner benefits to its employees. We applaud today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision. [emphasis ours, dammit]
We hope/expect to see similar statements from Ford, General Motors, Nissan, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and other LGBT-friendly companies soon. (Hyundai and Kia, not so much.)
