Photographer Megan Green is known for her spectacular shots of cars and car culture. Recently, Megan sent Gaywheels three sets of her work, two of which ran the last couple of Fridays. Here’s her third and final series, “Driven”, along with a note from the artist.

My “Driven” series is essentially about entropy; it’s the automotive equivalent of “ruin porn“. I’m attracted to the textures of old, beat up cars, the weeds growing up and around the abandoned vehicles, and the left-behind, lonely nature of the cars — once driven and beloved — left to the elements by their owners.
When driving outside of the city, I see glimpses of these skeletons in stranger’s backyards, and I feel compelled to stop and sneak over to grab a picture. I shot this series using a Holga — a $25 plastic film camera — on black and white film. The film texture and vignetting from the Holga, I think, adds to the melancholy beauty of these forlorn vehicles.
