9/2/2008 – The Human Rights Campaign Foundation just released its 2009 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and 6 of the 259 major U.S. businesses that scored a top rating of 100 percent are automotive manufacturers. Listed in alphabetical order they are: Chrysler, Ford, GM, Subaru, Toyota and VW.
Subaru, in concert with their long-standing support of the LGBT community, is not surprising. Some might be taken back by the other companies on the list as well as those that didn’t achieve a perfect score.
2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid – Preview
Thursday, June 19, 2008 – I am in Boston, MA as a guest of Chrysler to drive the 2009 Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango HEMI® Hybrids. The heart of the Hybrid drivetrain was co-developed with GM and BMW so the performance and functionality of the Hybrid system shouldn’t be much different than the one in the GMC Yukon Hybrid we drove recently. It will offer an average of 20% improvement in fuel economy with the majority of improvement coming in city driving. We don’t get into the vehicles until tomorrow so I’ll give you a sneak peek at the photos and offer a brief overview.
