Let’s Talk: 2008 Buick Enclave

At Gaywheels.com, our mission is to bring you the latest on gay-friendly cars, their owners and the companies that build them. But sometimes we get the chance to experience vehicles in the way their owners would. Recently, we did just that when we attended a fabulous event with Buick in Napa, Calif. We weren’t alone, either. Gaywheels.com’s founder Joe LaMuraglia explored the Northern California countryside with the “Chief Mother” from MotherProof.com, Kristin Varela, as his co-driver. And we were curious — do gay drivers see the Enclave through the same eyes as a full-time Mom does? Here’s the result from their online chat review of the 2008 Enclave: [...]

A Car for Every Gay Stage

The automobile industry spends millions of dollars researching the average consumer’s needs during various life stages. Depending on our age and position in life, our cars say a lot about us, our desires and the image we wish to project. Of course, we of the homosexual persuasion have a slightly different set of needs and paths than our straight counterparts. [...]

Back in Black – 2008 Saab Turbo X

Saab invited us to Boston this week to be a part of the North American reveal of the 2008 Saab Turbo X. With a yearly volume of only 600 in the U.S. and a price tag north of $40K, one might ask why Gaywheels.com was amongst the few to be part of this event. The answer: Saab recognizes the importance of the GLBT consumer and with their 9-3 a Top Researched vehicle on the site, it made sense to make sure our readers got the scoop. Besides, we all love black, right? [...]

In its second year taking place in November, the Los Angeles International Auto show is establishing itself as a important event for the industry. We forced ourselves to go to all the parties and fabulous events in the city of Angels. The result? Our picks for the Top 5 notable introductions from gay-friendly manufacturers. [...]

2007 Los Angeles Auto Show

I can’t believe it, but it is November already and we are in Los Angeles to cover the 2007 Los Angeles International Auto show. We won’t be giving you up-to-the-second updates (for that, check out The Car Connection) but rather a daily recap and then a few days later our Top Vehicles list. I am a guest of General Motors for this trip and had the pleasure to drive their latest-generation Fuel Cell vehicles yesterday afternoon as part of their social media program. The route was just a short jaunt around downtown L.A. but the Fuel Cell Equinox was quite impressive. [...]

Team G.L.A.M. – We Made It!

Well, we made it. While I would have preferred that we claimed overall victory in the inaugural Fireball Run (we came in 11th overall), I am very pleased with our final results. The score was based on a multitude of factors and to be very honest, the rules kept changing as the event progressed. When you get 45+ teams of highly competitive individuals, loopholes will be found and rules will be challenged. [...]

Top 10 Commentary

Our Top 10 Most Researched Vehicles article is consistently the most popular article on the site. We are often asked why certain cars made it to the list and while we cannot get inside our users’ heads, we can make educated guesses. With that in mind, we asked our own Joe Tralongo to give his take on the Top 10 Most Researched [...]
