2013 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro: Can It Still Compete With Younger Rivals?

Audi has one of the most expansive line-ups of niche luxury models in the industry, but when it comes right down to it, nearly one out of every two Audis sold is the comparatively “bread and butter” model known as the A4 sedan. But don’t think we’re likening Audi’s hottest worldwide seller to a piece of stale toast and unsavory buttery topping that just refuses to melt or spread properly. If there’s one thing we’re sure of around here, it’s that no Audi is anywhere near the equivalent of automotive prison food.

2013 Audi A5 And The Face That Will NOT Be Ignored

Stereotyping is one of LA’s favorite past times. This constant need for categorization can make-or-break people, places, and things. German luxury cars are of course included in this: BMW has performance (people who wear bright colored polos with obscure Tour-de-France logos on them and backwards baseball hats), Mercedes has luxury (old people), and Audi has design (people who name their first-born Neutra and claim to want to move to France because everything is ‘just so effortlessly chic there’).

2012 Audi A7 Sportback

To this day, I still think the first-generation Mercedes CLS is one of the sexiest cars I’ve ever laid on eyes on. While the term “four-door coupe” goes against the very definition of what a coupe is, Mercedes broke the…

Highlights Of The 2011 New York International Auto Show

This year at the New York International Auto Show, the theme we repeatedly heard more than any other was fuel economy—or to be more precise, 40 mpg fuel economy. Auto makers, both foreign and domestic, rolled out a number of…

2011 Audi R8 4.2L R-tronic

By Chris Doane Lawn boys let go of their Toro self-propelled, mulching mowers. Salesmen at Mercedes-Benz dealerships halt their SL65 pitches mid-sentence. Middle-aged women are giving me THAT look. When the R8 rolls past, the world stops. Sound good so…

Superbowl Car Commercials 2010

Thumbnail image for superbowl2010.jpgAhhh, the Superbowl. America’s annual excuse to party on a Sunday afternoon and pretend to be interested in a bunch of grown men wearing really tight pants running into each other while carrying a leather ball. We’ve put together a collection of automotive ads/teasers that we know are coming this coming Sunday, February 7th.

Superbowl Car Commercials – Audi

This ad is one of a series of spots from Audi that are pseudo public service announcements about enforcing green policies. The ads have been causing some controversy over the use of the term “green police”. Seems that some people…

2011 Audi A8 Preview

2011Audi A8

I am in Miami as a guest of Audi to witness the reveal of the new 2011 Audi A8. Audi chose Miami to reveal their new flagship in part as the kick off of the Art Basel show – self described as the most important art show in the U.S. We learned very little about the new car other than some top line specs: The new A8 will come to market with either of two engines, a 4.2L V8 with 372 hp and a 4.2L V8 TDI with 350 HP They will be followed by a 3.0L V6 TDI with 250 HP.
